WET BELTS
Wet timing belts (also known as belt in oil) are timing components submerged in engine oil to reduce friction, noise and emissions while allowing for more compact engine design. They are prevelant in small displacement engines from european manufacturers, particularly from 2012 onwards. However they ofter wear prematurely due to oil contamination, leading to belt degradation.
